In the midst of a global oil crisis during which diesel was considered an alternative fuel, Renzo loved the idea of his brand becoming known as an alternative denim brand, in contrast to the prevailing casual clothing giants that had existed. Diesel is a premium, iconic lifestyle brand present in more than 80 countries, with more than 5,000 outlets worldwide and 400 single-brand stores.
In 2002 he opened his first store in Barcelona, on the famous Paseo de Gracia and currently has 30 stores throughout the national territory.
